Vacuums by far have changed the way the world cleans. These are wonderful labor saving devices, most of the time. They come in all sizes and run the gamut of power. There are vacuums that you can use to suck up wet spills. Some folks have upstairs vacuums and downstairs vacuums and garage or shop vacuums and portable auto vacuums and handheld rechargeable vacuums. It is really quite incredible when you think about how one single tool has morphed into so many versions.

The question than has to be asked, is it really necessary to have so many different vacuums? Ok we have to concede that a shop vac is handy tool to have around. A traditional house vacuum is not made to suck up wet spills, but couldn’t a shop vac be modified to work in the house, would it even have to be modified or wouldn’t it just work as is? Conceivably one vacuum could do the trick but would it be as convenient? Maybe it is not as attractive as a house vacuum and that is why it is not given the opportunity to wear two hats.

A handheld vacuum is for quick pick me ups. You can clean up junior’s remnants from breakfast that have been strewn across the floor or quickly suck up crumbs without having to pull out the regular size vacuum. The handheld vacuum is a gem of sorts for us always on the run folks that don’t have the time to pull a full size vacuum out of storage every time someone drops some crumbs on the floor. They are quick and easy to use. Can a regular size vacuum take care of the mess, sure, but pulling out the regular size vacuum every few hours can really shake someone’s nerves to the bone. Sure the handheld vacuum can be replaced by the larger vacuum but how about for use in a vehicle. This is where the handheld really moves over to the blessing side of things. These mighty little wonders can easily go outside or into the garage and make quick work of cleaning the car up. You don’t have to deal with any cords or heavy equipment that has to be lugged around you simply grab the handheld and head out.

We can put some of the other vacuums to the wayside and just call them what they are “consumer traps” but the handheld models are worth their weight in cheerios and dust bunnies combined. They are great labor saving devices that will spare your back and keep the frustration down. These “handy” devices are easy to use and easy to maintain they sit on their charger just waiting to be called to duty!

Blessing or bane ask anyone that has a couple of kids running around the house, even the folks with the four legged variety of kids will tell you they have no idea how they got along without a handheld vacuum. It is a blessing!
